With a price equivalent to around $5,910.06 USD, the new generation Hyundai Atos made its debut in the Haitian market. It features a modern design and a 1.1-liter gasoline engine with 69 horsepower, but it has very poor safety equipment.

After its launch of the Hyundai Atos 2020 in countries in the region such as Chile, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Haiti, it is indeed the new generation of this city car that was introduced in India a year ago under the name Santro, gradually covering different countries in Latin America.

General Aspects

This vehicle took the place of the Hyundai Eon, positioning itself as a more affordable option than the current Grand i10, which is offered as a taxi in Haiti. In terms of design, it incorporates the brand's signature "cascading" grille, with specific details such as fog lights and side mirrors with directional lights. Another characteristic is the wavy side line and bumpers that give it a certain robust appearance.

Inside, the dashboard features the forward-positioned touchscreen of the multimedia center, with vertical grilles around it for ventilation. The steering wheel has audio controls, and the electric window controls are in front of the gear lever, in a particularly uncomfortable position.

Engine

The powertrain of the 2020 Hyundai Atos starts with a small Epsilon engine of 1.1 liters, four cylinders, and 12 valves. It generates 68 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and torque of 99 Nm at 2,800 rpm, connected to a 5-speed manual transmission. Regarding the suspension system, it has a McPherson type at the front and a Coupled Torsion Beam Axle (CTBA) at the rear for greater stability and comfort.

The steering is electrically assisted, and the braking system consists of solid discs at the front and drums at the rear, without ABS or any type of electronic assistance.

General Equipment

The range of the Hyundai Atos in Haiti consists of two versions, good in terms of technology and comfort equipment but very poor in terms of safety, with a minimal provision. In this regard, the brand committed to a more complete version in the future.

In summary, the new generation Hyundai Atos, priced at approximately $5,910.06 USD, has been introduced in the Haitian market. It boasts a modern design, a 1.1-liter gasoline engine, and reasonable technology and comfort features. However, the vehicle falls short in terms of safety equipment, lacking essential features like ABS. Despite its debut in several Latin American countries, there is a commitment from the brand to release a more comprehensive version addressing the safety concerns.
